% 25.07.2016 Even though notice has not been issued, respondent no.2 has appeared in court today. This petition has been filed by the petitioner to seek the quashing of FIR No.1047/2004 registered under Section 420 IPC at PS Punjabi Bagh on the complaint of respondent no.2 against the petitioner. The petition is premised on a settlement arrived at in mediation on 02.12.2015, a copy whereof has been placed on record. Respondent no.2 who is present in court is identified by the I.O. Respondent no.2 states that he has entered into the settlement out of his own free will and without any undue pressure or coercion. He also prays that the FIR in question be quashed.
In the aforesaid circumstances, no useful purpose would be served in keeping the FIR and the proceedings arising therefrom pending. Accordingly, the FIR stands quashed. The petition stands disposed of. VIPIN SANGHI, J JULY 25, 2016 sr
