The present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 („Cr.P.C.‟) has been filed on behalf of petitioner seeking following prayers: "a) Allow the present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 for seeking directions for a speedy trial with respect to FIR No. 635/2016 dated 10/10/2016 U/S 498A, 304B, 306, 34 of I.P.C. filed at P.S. Binda Pur, New Delhi-110059, in the interest of justice and humanity.

b) Any other relief deems fit and proper under the facts and circumstances of the case may also be passed." 2.

498A/304B/306/34 of IPC. The learned Trial Court has given a list of reasons including reasons that due to heavy pendency expeditious trial was not possible. However, considering the gravity of the offence contained herein and also the fact that only one witness has been examined, though the chargesheet was filed in the year 2017.

The learned Trial Court is directed to ensure that no adjournments are granted in this case to the learned counsel for accused and also for the prosecution and the public witnesses are examined expeditiously. 4.

A report regarding the number of witnesses examined will be sent to this Court after three months. The Registry will place the report before this Court for any further directions.

The learned counsel for the petitioner will be at liberty to move appropriate application if so required.

In view of the above, the present petition stands disposed of. 7.
