The grievance of the petitioner in the present petition is that despite his having made applications to the Director General, Prisons for transferring him to semi open jail, as per the Standing Order No. 61 and the name of the petitioner having been put in the list containing proposed convicts to be proposedly transferred to semi open jail, no order has finally been passed.

Considering the averments in this petition, Director General, Prisons is directed to consider the present writ petition as a representation of the petitioner, take a decision thereon in accordance with law within a period of four weeks and intimate the outcome thereof to the petitioner. 6.
