The petitioner seeks quashing of FIR No.769/2014 under Section 354/506 IPC, Police Station Farsh Bazar on the basis of a settlement. 2.

Respondent No.2 - Complainant is the sister-in-law of the petitioner (i.e. sister of the wife of the petitioner). 3.

The parties have settled their disputes. Settlement Deed dated Nil executed in July, 2017 has been entered into by the parties. It is contended by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the subject FIR was registered due to some misunderstanding and he submits that the petitioner and the sister of the respondent No.2 are cohabiting together as husband and wife and there are no disputes between them. It is stated by the parties that two other cross-FIRs, which were registered, have already been compounded as offences therein were compoundable.

Respondent No.2 is present in Court in person and is identified by the Investigating Officer. She confirms the settlement and submits that the disputes have been settled and now there are no disputes remaining with the petitioner. She submits that she does not wish to press charges against the petitioner and has no objection to the quashing of the subject FIR.

In view of the fact that the proceedings emanate out of a matrimonial discord and the petitioner and the sister of the complainant/respondent No.2 have fully and finally settled their disputes and have started living together and further the respondent No.2 has stated that she does not wish to press the complaint any further, it would be expedient and in the interest of justice to quash the subject FIR and the consequent proceedings emanating there from. 7.

In view of the above, FIR No.769/2014 under Section 354/506 IPC, Police Station Farsh Bazar and the consequent proceedings emanating there from are quashed.
