This is a petition under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal by a period of 12 months for concluding the arbitral proceedings and passing the final award.

on account of the fact that both parties consumed significant time in recording evidence of the petitioner's witnesses. 6.
Issue notice.

Mr Kaushik, learned counsel accepts notice on behalf of the respondent and states that he has no objection to the petition being allowed. 8.
For the reasons noted above, I am of the view that sufficient cause has been explained for the delay.

The petition is allowed and the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal is extended by a period of 12 months w.e.f. 12.03.2024. The period from 12.03.2024 till today stands regularized.

The petition is disposed of accordingly.
