The petitioner has approached this Court directly, seeking the following reliefs:- " A) Issue a Writ in Mandamus or any appropriate writ to direct the Respondent No.1 and 2 to provide the electricity connection to the Petitioner.

B) AND OR pass any other order/ orders, which this Hon'ble Court may think fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case." 2.

Under the provisions of the Electricity Act, 2003 (hereinafter 'the Act'), Section 42 (5) provides for grievance redressal via Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum and in terms of Section 42(6) of the Act, the appeal would lie before the Ombudsman.

instant writ petition and instead, grants liberty to the petitioner to take appropriate recourse in accordance with law.

If the petitioner approaches the alternate grievance mechanism, the concerned authority is directed to consider the case as expeditiously as possible.
