% 16.02.2018 By this petition the petitioner seeks extension of parole granted by the Government of NCT of Delhi for a further period of six weeks. Petitioner was granted parole for a period of four weeks, subject to verification of address, by the Government of NCT vide communication dated 22nd November, 2017. The petitioner availed of the said parole w.e.f. 23rd January, 2018 and has to surrender on 20th February, 2018. On a notice being issued, a Status Report has been filed. As per the W.P.(CRL) 457/2018

Status Report the mother of the petitioner was diagnosed with lower respiratory tract infection, acute asthmatic bronchitis, accelerated hypertension and dyselectrolytemia. While discharging the mother of the petitioner on 27th January, 2018, doctors prescribed complete bed rest for one month. As per the Status Report the family of the petitioner comprises of his parents and the petitioner.

Considering the fact that the petitioner has been granted regular furloughs by the competent authority followed by a four weeks' parole w.e.f. 23rd January, 2018, this Court is not inclined to grant parole to the petitioner for a period of six weeks. However, the parole granted by the Government of NCT w.e.f. 23rd January, 2018 to 20th February, 2018 is extended for a further period of one week on the same terms and conditions as imposed vide communication dated 22nd November, 2017. Petition is disposed of.
