booked against the petitioner and one theft bill had been assessed by respondent no. 2 against the petitioner for an amount of Rs 16,31,180/-on the basis of inspection dated 06.12.2022. The officials of respondent no. 2 had lodged a complaint, which resulted into registration of the present FIR. It is stated that the parties have now amicably settled their dispute before the Lok Adalat vide Award dated 09.11.2024.

7.

On a query made by this Court, the learned counsel appearing respondent no. 2 states that the matter has been amicably settled between the parties and in terms of the settlement, the entire amount due has been received by respondent no. 2. Therefore, he has no objection if the present FIR is quashed.

8.

In view of the above, that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, and without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 9.

Accordingly, FIR bearing No. 763/2022, registered at Police Station, Jafrabad, Delhi, for the offences punishable under Section 135 of the Electricity Act, 2003 and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.
