O R D E R

The present petition has been filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. seeking quashing of FIR No.10/2009 registered under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC and Section 4 Dowry Prohibition Act at P.S. Zafrabad, Delhi on the ground that the parties have amicably settled their disputes. 2.

The present FIR is an outcome of a matrimonial dispute between the complainant/respondent No. 2 (wife) and petitioner No.1 (husband) whereas petitioner Nos.2 to 5 are the in-laws of the complainant. 3.

Learned APP for the State submits that in the present case the petitioners are the only accused persons and respondent No.2 is the complainant/victim. He, on instructions, further submits that the chargesheet was filed against 6 accused persons and that one of them namely, Jafar The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

Ali/father-in-law has since expired. The factum of his death has been verified.

Learned counsels for the parties submit that the parties have settled their dispute on 21.05.2019 before Delhi Mediation Centre, Karkardooma Courts, Delhi and that the petitioner No.1 and respondent No.2 are now living together.

The petitioners, who are present in the Court, have been identified by their counsel and the Investigating Officer. Petitioner No.1 assures to look after respondent No.2 and further assures that no such incident would be repeated in future. The assurance given on behalf of petitioner No.1 is accepted and taken on record. He is made bound by the same. 6.

Respondent No.2, who is also present in Court, is identified by the Investigating Officer. She states that she has entered into the aforesaid mediation settlement with her own free will, volition and without any coercion. She further states that she has no objection if the present FIR and consequent proceedings are quashed.

Learned counsels for the parties submit that no other proceedings are pending between the parties.

The parties shall remain bound by the statements made in Court today.

In view of the above facts and since no useful purpose will be served in continuance of the present criminal proceedings, it is directed that the aforesaid FIR and the consequent proceedings arising therefrom are hereby quashed.

The petition is disposed of in the above terms. 11.

Respondent No.2 shall be at liberty to revive the proceedings in case The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.
