The present petition has been filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. seeking quashing of FIR No. 180/2018 registered under Sections 498A/34 IPC at P.S. Sarojini Nagar (South), New Delhi on the ground that the parties have amicably settled their disputes.

The present FIR is an outcome of a matrimonial dispute between the complainant/respondent No. 2 (wife) and respondent No.3 (husband) whereas petitioner Nos. 1 to 3 are the in-laws of the complainant. 3.

Mr. Sanjeev Sabharwal, learned APP for the State, submits that in the present case the petitioners and respondent No.3 are the only accused persons and respondent No. 2 is the complainant/victim. 4.

Learned counsel for the petitioners states that the parties have settled their dispute vide Deed of Compromise dated 31.07.2019. informed that the parties are living together. Respondent No.2 states that now she has no complaint against the petitioners and respondent No.3. 5.

The petitioners who are present in person, have been identified by their counsel as well as by the Investigating Officer/ SI Vineesha PS Sarojini Nagar, New Delhi. Respondent No. 2, who has joined the proceedings through VC, and respondent No.3 have also been identified by the I.O. 6.

Respondent No.2 states that she has entered into the aforesaid settlement out of her own free will, volition and without any coercion. She also states that she has no objection if the present FIR and the consequent proceedings are quashed.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that no other proceedings are pending between the parties.

The parties shall remain bound by the statements and undertaking made in Court today.

In view of the above facts and since no useful purpose will be served in continuance of the present criminal proceedings, it is directed that the aforesaid FIR and the consequent proceedings arising therefrom are hereby quashed.
