The present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India has been filed by a young law student aspiring to join Judge Advocate General (JAG) Branch of the Indian Army. Through this petition, the petitioner seeks a direction to the respondents to extend the date for submission of applications for Short Service Commission (SSC) in the JAG Branch of the Indian Army, till the results of the VIth semester LLB degree are declared by Delhi University (DU).

semester of the 3 year of the LLB degree at the DU, is on account of postponement of the final examinations of LLB by the DU, which are now scheduled to be held between 19.07.2024 and 09.08.2024, the petitioner will not be in a position to apply for SSC in the JAG Branch for which the last date to apply is 13.08.2024. He, therefore, prays that the last date for application for SSC in the JAG Branch be extended for all the students of DU.

After some arguments, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks leave to withdraw the petition. The petition accordingly stands dismissed as not pressed.
