The present petition has been filed by the petitioner praying inter alia for directions to the respondents/BRO to grant him appointment on compassionate ground.

A perusal of the paper book reveals that vide letter dated 30.11.2017, the respondents had duly informed the petitioner and his mother that the petitioner's name was positioned at Serial No. 391 out of 762 in the consolidated merit list calculated upto August 2017 of the recommended candidates, whose names are pending for compassionate appointment due to non availability of sufficient vacancies. It was also stated in the said letter that the petitioner's name had not come in the merit list for issuing a call letter against vacancies released for compassionate appointment due to his low Relative Merit Points. The letter concludes by advising the petitioner to apply in the GREF through direct recruitment, if he fulfills all the educational/technical qualification and other essential eligibility criteria,

prescribed for the post in direct recruitment. 3.

Learned counsel for the respondent submits that despite the above clear information furnished to the petitioner, he has filed the present misconceived petition knowing very well that the respondents have already placed him in the wait list, as per the priority assigned to the applicants seeking compassionate appointment, on the basis of the parameters laid down by the government on a 100 point scale.

In view of the clear position reflected in the letter dated 30.11.2017, the prayer made in the present petition for appointing the petitioner on compassionate grounds out of turn, is declined. 5.
