The present petition has been filed by the petitioner, an acid attack survivor, who seeks that the respondents be directed to take expeditious steps for disbursement of an additional compensation of Rs.1 Lakh to which the petitioner is entitled under the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund ('PMNRF').

Learned counsel for the respondents, who appear on advance notice, accedes that the petitioner's request for grant of an additional compensation is required to be processed. pending with the SDM, Kanjhawala, District North-West, New Delhi, for preparation of the report. It is submitted that after the report is prepared, the same shall be forwarded to the Ministry of Home Affairs and thereafter, the matter shall be processed for disbursement of the requisite amount to the petitioner.

Let the respondent no.2 / SDM, Kanjhawala forward the necessary report within a period of two weeks from today. 6.

Learned counsel for the respondent no.1 / Union of India submits that immediately upon receipt of the necessary report, in terms of extant guidelines, the necessary verification shall be done and the amount shall be released expeditiously.

Taking the above statements made on behalf of the respondents on record, the present petition is disposed of.
