This writ petition seeks directions to the Respondents for removal of encroachments from the passages on both sides of Plot Nos. 106/224, 225 and 226, situated in extended Lal Dora, Village Khera Kalan, Delhi. 4.

provisions of the East Punjab Holdings (Consolidation and Prevention of Fragmentation) Act, 1948. The Petitioners further state that the land in question stands urbanised and that the MCD is now the responsible authority to examine the issue of unauthorised encroachments. 5.
In this regard, it must be noted that a Special Task Force,1 headed by the Vice Chairman of the Delhi Development Authority, has been constituted as the nodal agency for dealing with issues pertaining to land encroachment. In such circumstances, in light of the judgments of the Division Bench of this Court in Devender v. GNCTD2 and Himanshu v. East Delhi Municipal Corporation and Anr.,3 the Petitioners must, at the first instance, approach the STF raising their grievances. 6.
Accordingly, the present petition is disposed of with a direction that the petition be treated as a representation to the STF, which shall take action thereon expeditiously, in accordance with law. 7.
This Court has not examined the rival contentions of the parties nor expressed any opinion as to whether there is indeed any encroachment as alleged by the Petitioners. All such aspects shall be examined by the STF, in accordance with law.
