O R D E R

The present contempt petition has been filed alleging non-compliance of the judgment dated 21st March, 2023 passed in W.P.(C) 3508/2023. By way of the said order, learned Division Bench had directed the respondents to take final decision within a period of six months with respect to Cadre Review of Water Wing Cadre of BSF.

This Court notes that respondent no.1 had subsequently filed an application being CM APPL. 66206/2023 before the Division Bench seeking extension of time for Cadre Review, as directed by the said Court. By order th December, 2023, the Division Bench has extended the period for dated 20 completion of the aforesaid exercise by the respondents, by further six months. The order dated 20th December, 2023 passed by the Division Bench in CM APPL. 66206/2023 in W.P.(C) 3508/2023 is reproduced as under: CM APPL. 66206/2023 (for extension of time) "

As directed by order dated 21.03.2023, learned counsel for the respondents/applicants submits that steps have been initiated of conducting the cadre review, however, keeping in view the nature of review required the exercise is likely to take another six months. 2. It is contended that the Ministry of Home, Ministry of Finance and Department of Personnel and Training need to be consulted before the exercise can be completed and as such the same would require further six months.

3. In view of the above, the application is allowed. Further six months' time is granted to respondents to complete the cadre review.

4. Accordingly, the application is disposed of." 3.

In view of the aforesaid, since the period for compliance of the judgment dated 21st March, 2023 has already been extended by another six months, no further orders are required to be passed in the present contempt proceedings for the time being.

Accordingly, the present contempt petition is disposed of. 5.

In case the grievance of the petitioner still survives, the petitioner is at liberty to revive the present contempt petition.
