This petition is filed under Section 29A(4) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of time for making of Award by the learned Sole Arbitrator by a period of six months. 2.

Pursuant to the appointment of the learned Arbitrator, she entered reference on 26.07.2016. As the period of one year expired, the parties extended the mandate of the learned Arbitrator as noted by the learned Arbitrator in the order dated 01.08.2017. The extended period has expired on 24.01.2018 and hence, the present petition. 3.

Learned counsel appearing for the parties submit that the delay has taken place on account of certain amendment that had to be taken place in the pleadings and now, the matter is at the final stage. 4.

The petition is accordingly allowed and the time for making Award is extended by a period of six months.
