O R D E R

% 23.02.2016 The present is a petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Cr.P.C.) praying for a direction to the official respondent to release the petitioner on parole in order to enable him to reconnect family relations and re-establish social ties.

Counsel for the petitioner states that vide despatch No.F.4/SCJ4/AS(CT)/2015/2184 dated 01.12.2015 the petitioner applied to the Competent Authority of the respondent for grant of parole on the afore-stated grounds. The said application has not been decided by the Competent Authority so far. Notice.

Mr. Sanjay Lao, learned Additional Standing Counsel (Criminal) accepts notice on behalf of the official respondent and states that the Competent Authority shall determine the application for parole dated 01.12.2015 pending before it, definitely within a period of seven working days from today, in accordance with law.

Directed accordingly.

In view of the above, counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner seeks leave to withdraw this petition with liberty to approach this Court in the event the application for parole is not considered favourably. Leave and liberty granted.
