This is a petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 528 BNSS, 2023 for directing the respondent to release the petitioner on furlough for a period of three weeks. 2.

It is submitted that petitioner is aged about 75 years and is suffering from age related ailments. He is currently undergoing life imprisonment under Sections 302 and 376 IPC. approximately of 2 years and 11 months. Learned counsel further states that petitioner previously availed parole and furlough without any misuse. She states that petitioner applied for furlough on 08.03.2025, but has not received any response from the competent authorities. 3.

Learned ASC appearing for the State, states that petitioner did not surrender and jumped the parole and was, therefore, re-arrested after a delay of about 20 months.

Since petitioner has submitted application for furlough and the same has not been disposed of, the present petition is disposed of with direction to the competent authorities to decide the application of petitioner within a period of two weeks.

A copy of this order be sent to Jail Superintendent for information and compliance.
