CORAM:

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE VIBHU BAKHRU

O R D E R

% 18.11.2019 1.

The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that directions be issued to respondent nos.1 to 4 to not discriminate against the petitioners. The petitioner states that he has not been provided the facilities, as have been provided to other inmates. In particular, he states that (a) there are restrictions imposed on meeting with family; (b) there are restrictions imposed on telephonic conversations with family; (c) no facility of television is extended; (d) he has been denied the food of his choice, as only vegetarian food is served; and (e) restrictions have been imposed on legal meeting with the advocates.

2.

This Court is unable to accept that all other inmates have an

unrestricted use of meeting with friends and families or use of telephone. It is also clear that there is no discrimination against the petitioner in respect of food of his choice, as no separate food is being prepared for the petitioner. 3.

Insofar as the restriction as to legal meetings with the advocates or provision of television facility is concerned, the respondents are directed to ensure that similar facilities, as are provided to other inmates, be also provided to the petitioner and to the same extent. This is provided that the same are not being provided to the petitioner but to other prisoners. 4.

No further orders are required to be passed in this petition. 5.

The same is disposed of.
