Present public interest litigation has been filed seeking directions for blanket ban on manufacturing, sale and usage of Wet Dhoop and for implementation of pilot project of Agarbatti Industry framed by Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME).

The petitioner had previously filed a writ petition seeking identical directions being W.P.(C) No.7766/2024, which was disposed of vide order dated 29th May, 2024 giving liberty to the petitioner to make representation to the statutory authority and if aggrieved, file a fresh petition on the same cause of action. Pursuant thereto, petitioner made a representation dated 31st May, 2024 to the respondents, but has not received any response so far. Keeping in view the aforesaid fact, this Court disposes of the present writ petition with a direction to the Secretary of respondent no.3 to treat the present writ petition as a representation and to decide the same in accordance with law within eight weeks. The rights and contentions of all the parties are left open.
