The petitioner is aggrieved by the continued detention and seizure of articles pursuant to a detention receipt dated 07 June 2024. The record would indicate that seeking release of the seized articles, the petitioner had approached the Commissioner of Customs, IGI Airport by way of an application which has been placed on our record as Annexure P-7.

Bearing in mind the limited nature of the controversy which stands raised, we dispose of this writ petition by directing the petitioner to approach the Commissioner of Customs, IGI Airport or such other competent authority as may have been designated afresh by way of a representation which may be made within a period of one week from today. The said representation may be disposed of in accordance with law and preferably within a period of six weeks therefrom. All rights and contentions of respective parties on merits are kept open.
