By way of present petition, the petitioners seek quashing of FIR bearing no. 455/2021, registered at Police Station Welcome, for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 308/323/509/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter 'IPC').

All the petitioners and respondent nos. 2 to 5 are present before this Court and have been identified by their counsels and concerned Investigating Officer (IO) from Police Station Welcome, Delhi. 5.

Briefly stated, facts of the present case are on the night of 27-28 August 2021 at around 11:30 PM, a quarrel took place due to a family dispute. The complainant/respondent no. 2 was informed by his younger sister that his brother Mohd. Farhan was beaten by their cousins Nazim and Anas (sons of Shehanshah). Later, Nazim, Anas, Monu, Altamash, Sohail (S/o Badshah), Rinku, and some other men and women allegedly attacked the complainant's house, pelted stones, and abused them, intending to cause harm. The complainant's mother was injured, and Altamash allegedly hit the complainant on the head with a belt, while Monu assaulted the complainant's mother. In self-defence, the complainant and his family used sticks and consequently the present FIR came to be registered against the present petitioners. It is stated that during the investigation of the present FIR, with the intervention of family and friends, both the parties have settled all their disputes vide Settlement Deed dated 24.03.2025. 6.

On a query made by this Court, respondent nos. 2 to 5 who have been identified by the concerned IO, have categorically stated that they have entered into compromise out of their own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat and have no objection if the present FIR is quashed. 7.

In view of the above fact that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, without any coercion and no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 8.

Accordingly, FIR bearing no. 455/2021, registered at Police Station Welcome, for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 308/323/509/34 of IPC and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed subject to petitioners depositing a sum of Rs. 5,000/- each in the Advocates' Welfare Fund, Saket Court Bar Association. 9.

In view of the above, the present petition stands disposed of. 10.
