This hearing has been done through hybrid mode. 2.
The present petition has been filed by the Petitioner under Article 226 of the Constitution of India challenging the detention of the PC Webcam (hereinafter, 'the detained article') which was seized on 24th December, 2024. The said challenge was raised by the Petitioner on the ground that no Show Cause Notice had been issued with respect to the said detention. 3.
Today, ld. Counsel for the Petitioner submits that the present petition has become infructuous, as the order for provisional release of the detained article has already been passed and therefore, the time limit for issuance of Show Cause Notice as per Section 110 of Customs Act,1962 is no longer applicable.

On behalf of the Customs Department, it is submitted that an order for provisional release under Section 110A of the Customs Act, 1962 has already been issued on 12th March, 2025. This is also stated in the counter affidavit which has been filed by the Customs Department. Accordingly, in light of the fact that a provisional release order has already been issued in this case, the present petition stands disposed of as infructuous.
