By way of the present petition, the petitioner/management has impugned the award dated 24.07.2019 passed by the learned Labour Court, Rouse Avenue Courts, New Delhi in LIR No.2783/2016. 2.
Learned Standing Counsel for the petitioners, on instructions, submits that as a goodwill gesture and considering the lapse of time, without prejudice to their rights and contentions, the petitioners, having already deposited the award amount, have no objection if the compensation amount as awarded by the Labour Court, is released to the respondent. 3.
Learned counsel for the respondent submits that though the award was passed on 24.07.2019 and this Court directed the petitioners to deposit the award amount on 26.11.2019, the said amount came to be deposited only after much delay. is lying in the form of an FDR dated 11.08.2021. 4.
In view of the statement made on behalf of the petitioners, let the aforesaid amount, alongwith the interest accrued thereupon, be released to the respondent. Further, as the amount was deposited after a period of about 15 months, the petitioners are directed to pay a further sum of Rs.20,000/-, over and above the deposited amount, to the respondent within a period of four weeks from today.

In view of the above, the present petition is disposed of, alongwith the pending application.
