The petitioners, who are aspiring to join the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) as Constable (DCPO) pursuant to the notification issued on 23/24.01.2023 have approached this Court seeking the following directions:
(a) direct that standing screening committee constituted by respondent no.2 to take decision on the suitability of the petitioner within two weeks as already three months have lapsed, and no decision has been taken;
(b) direct that subject to decision of the standing screening committee the petitioner may be permitted to join to the post of Constable/DCPO.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that as way back as on 04.04.2024, the petitioners were informed by the respondents that their cases were being shortly placed before the Standing Screening Committee for consideration; however, even after a period of four months, no action has been taken in this regard.

assure the Court that the petitioners' cases will be placed before the Standing Screening Committee shortly.

In the light of this stand taken by the parties, the writ petitions are disposed of by directing the respondents to ensure that the cases of all the petitioners are placed before the Standing Screening Committee for consideration of their candidature as per law within a period of six weeks from today.

Needless to state, if the petitioners are aggrieved by any order(s) passed by the respondents, it will be open for them to seek legal recourse as permissible in law.
