The present Petition has been filed under Section 528 BNSS for quashing of the Order dated 30.04.2024.

It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that he has sought renewal of his passport for ten years. However, vide the impugned Order that the Court has allowed the renewal but has not specified the period. The consequence of which is that it will be renewed only for a period of one year. A prayer is made that directions be issued for the renewal of the passport for ten years.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that since no offence has been committed qua the passport, he is entitled to renewal of the passport The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. for 10 years.

It is evident from the perusal of the Petition that the prayer was made for ten years for renewal of the passport in the impugned Order. While permission has been granted for renewal but the learned MM has not specified the period and has not considered the prayer about the period for which the passport may be renewed.

In view of the submissions made, the petitioner is at liberty to approach the learned MM, who shall consider this aspect and pass appropriate directions.

The Petition is accordingly disposed of.
