These petitions have been filed seeking quashing of FIR No.40/2020 and FIR No. 43/2019 under various Sections including Sections The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.
323/341/304/308/452/506 IPC PS Kashmere Gate. These are cross-FIRs registered at the behest of the complainants in either of these matters arising out of an incident which occurred on 11th February, 2019 resulting an altercation over selection under 23 State Cricket Team. 2.
All the parties i.e. petitioners and complainants in both these matters are present before the Court and duly identified by the IO and their respective counsel who appear for them. A settlement has been arrived at between the parties dated 25 July, 2024 which is on record of this Court where the parties agreed to settle their disputes. 3.
The parties are all connected to the sport of cricket and served in various positions, and in the interest that their sporting lives are not affected, these petitions are being quashed.

The APP for the State, however, does object and considering the charge-sheets have been filed back in 2019 and 2020. 5.
In these circumstances, each of the petitioners in either of these matters will pay a cost of Rs.15,000/- each to the Delhi Police Welfare Fund within a period of three weeks from today.

Confirmation of the deposit will be filed by means of an affidavit and will be placed on record of this Court, one week thereafter, and copy of the same will be given to the IO.

Considering the above settlement between the parties and the chances of conviction of the petitioners being remote and bleak, there is no use continuing with proceedings of the present FIR as it would be a misuse of the process of the Court and an unnecessary burden on the State exchequer. Accordingly, the petition is allowed. Consequently, the FIR No.40/2020 and FIR No. 43/2019 and proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. Parties shall abide by the terms of settlement. 9.
Accordingly, the petition is disposed of. Pending applications (if any) are disposed of as infructuous.
