The petitioner appearing in person through video conferencing has sought several reliefs. On a pointed query from the court as to which reliefs he is pressing, he submits that directions be issued to the Central Government to fill the vacancies of judges. He also submits that the directions be issued for taking up at least five old cases every day. In addition, he submits that further facilities be made available in District Courts.

We do not consider it apposite that any directions, as sought for, are required to be granted. In so far as the filling up of the vacancies are concerned, the process for doing so is ongoing. 3.

In so far as the petitioner's case that five old cases be listed every day, the relevant administrative committees are taking steps to ensure that the emphasis is given for disposal of old cases.
