% 14.02.2020 This petition has been filed by the petitioner praying for a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to issue a fresh passport to the petitioner. The petitioner asserts that the earlier passport issued to him has been lost by him in Paris, France.
The learned counsel for the respondents, on instruction, submits that from a perusal of the documents annexed with the petition, it appears that the petitioner applied for a passport from Milan, Italy and not from Paris, France. Be that as it may, the application expired on its own after a period of one year. He submits that the petitioner would have to make a fresh application for issuance of a passport.
In view of the above, the present petition is disposed of, granting liberty to the petitioner to apply afresh for issuance of a passport, to be
considered by the respondents in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible. There shall be no order as to cost. NAVIN CHAWLA, J FEBRUARY 14, 2020/rv
