By way of this petition, under Article 226 of the Constitution, the petitioner, who is a Person with Benchmark Disability - Visual Impairment ["PwBD - VI"], assails the exclusion from consideration for appointment to the post of Associate Professor, Department of Economics in the University of Delhi. Notice was issued on 23.07.2025 and a counter affidavit was to be filed by the respondents within ten days. No counter affidavit has yet been filed.

In view of the fact that the reasons for the petitioner's nonconsideration have not been disclosed, Mr. Mohinder J.S. communicated to the petitioner within two weeks from today. He further states that no other eligible candidate has been shortlisted for interview for the said post. There is, therefore, no appointment likely to be made under the advertisement dated 03.10.2024 in the PwBD - VI category to the post of Associate Professor, Department of Economics, University of Delhi, before consideration of the petitioner's representation. 3.
The writ petition is disposed of in terms of these submissions, leaving the petitioner's remedies open in the event an adverse decision is taken.
