This petition has been filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seeking extension of the mandate of an arbitral tribunal, which is in seisin of disputes between the parties under a Consortium Agreement dated 07.05.2015.

The mandate of the arbitral tribunal was extended, with the consent of parties, for a period of six months, which is stated to have expired on 31.05.2024.

I am informed that the arbitration proceedings are at the stage of cross-examination of witnesses.

With the consent of learned counsel for the parties, the petition is allowed and the mandate of the arbitral tribunal is extended for a period of twelve months, with effect from 01.06.2024. 5.
