The petitioners who are serving in the Pharmacist cadre of the CRPF have approached this Court seeking the following reliefs: a. Issue a writ of certiorari or any other appropriate writ, order or direction quashing the Cadre review was conducted by the CRPF whereby vide order dated 22.10.2019 (Annexure PI) in Pharmacist cadre without prejudice to others issued by the Directorate General CRPF only 4 posts of Assistant Commandant, 90 posts of Inspector Pharmacist, 122 posts of SI Pharmacist were created and 201 posts of ASI Pharmacist was abolished.

b. Issue a writ of mandamus or any -other appropriate writ, order or direction, directing the respondents to take appropriate steps for partial modification of previous Cadre Review in time bound manner in order to promote the Combatized Pharmacist Petitioners as per the recommendations given in Annexure-PS, Dated May 2017, AnnexureP6 Dated 03.07.2017) and Annexure P7.Dated 11.08.2017. c. impugned in this petition by granting a personal hearing to the petitioners, and in which the petitioners shall have a right to place further relevant data for consideration of the respondents as per the OMs and Monograph of DoPT, be followed.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that on 14.05.2024, the respondents have already informed this Court that a cadre review of the Paramedic Cadre of the CRPF is scheduled to be held in 2024 itself. He hands over a copy of the order dated 14.05.2024 passed in W.P.(C) 5587/2023, which is taken on record and therefore, submits that for the present, the petitioners would be satisfied, in case the respondents are directed to complete the cadre review of the Paramedic Cadre of the CRPF in a time bound manner.

Learned counsel for the respondents does not deny that an assurance to hold a cadre review of the Paramedic Cadre of CRPF in 2024 itself was given to this Court on 14.05.2024.

In the light of the aforesaid stand taken by the parties, once the respondents are themselves proposing to hold a cadre review of the Paramedic Cadre of CRPF in 2024, we dispose of the writ petition by directing the respondents to ensure that the proposed cadre review is completed on or before 31.12.2024.

Needless to state, in case petitioners have any grievance with the outcome of the proposed cadre review, it will be open for them to seek legal recourse as permissible in law.
