Briefly stated, facts of the present case are that on 17.12.2021 at 11:20 AM when the respondent no.2 had come to her office and when she was going to the 2nd floor to get the office keys, a person from the ground floor main gate followed her and thereafter the said person had come to the stairs from the ground floor and when respondent no.2 was climbing the stairs, he had touched the respondent no.2 on her back, when she asked, what happened Bhaiya, he had caught the hand of the respondent no.2. Thereafter the respondent no. 2 had shouted, then the accused started molesting her and when she again shouted, the accused had run away by getting down the stairs. Pursuant to which, on the complaint of respondent no. 2, the present FIR was registered on under the relevant sections. 6.
It is stated that both the parties have amicably settled the present matter and respondent no.2, by way of an affidavit dated 30.07.2025, has given her no objection if the FIR is quashed. 7.
On a query made by this Court, respondent no.2 who has been identified by the concerned IO, has categorically stated that she has entered into compromise out of her own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. It is also stated by respondent no. 2 that the entire dispute has been amicably settled between the parties. Respondent no. 2 further states that she has no objection if the present FIR is quashed. 8.
In view of the above fact that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, without any coercion and no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question.
