This petition has been filed, under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seeking extension of the mandate of the arbitral tribunal, which is in seisin of disputes between the parties under a contract awarded by a letter of acceptance dated 22.12.2015. 2.

It is stated in the petition that the mandate of the arbitral tribunal is due to expire on 28.05.2024.

I am informed that the proceedings are at the stage of final arguments.

Mr. Ajit Sharma, learned counsel for the respondent, appears on advance notice and states that the respondent has no objection to the relief sought.

In view of the above, and with the consent of learned counsel for the parties, the petition is allowed and the mandate of the arbitral tribunal is extended for a period of six month, with effect from 29.05.2024. 6.
