The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that the petitioner be released on parole in connection with FIR No. 180/2012 under Sections 302/201/364/34 of the IPC registered with PS Maurya Enclave. 2.

The petitioner's application for parole had been rejected by an order dated 10.12.2019 in view of Rule 1210 (II) of the Delhi Prison Rules, 2018 which requires that the conduct of a prisoner, who has been awarded major punishment for any prison offence, should have been uniformly good for the preceding two years from the date of the application. 3.

The nominal roll indicates that the petitioner was awarded punishments twice: first, on 14.03.2018 and second, on 19.05.2018. The punishments awarded to the appellant were considered as major punishments and therefore, the petitioner is not entitled to parole unless he

maintains good conduct for a period of two years. 4.

In view of the above, the present petition is dismissed. 5.

However, it is directed that the petitioner's application for parole be considered for releasing on parole after 18.05.2020 without the petitioner being required to file a fresh application.
