The petitioner has field the present petition, inter alia, praying as under:- "a) Issue a writ of mandamus or any other or further appropriate writ, order or direction thereby directing the respondents to take action as per law and thus to seal the polluted unit/factory being run by the respondent no.4 at 3rd and 4th floor of residential property situated in Chhatta Laal Miyan, lane Pahad Wali, Daryaganj, New Delhi-110092, without any license or authority for entitlement." 2.

The petitioner alleges that the third and fourth floor of the residential premises in which she resides is being misused as a factory for dying of clothes. The petitioner also alleges that certain toxic and polluting

substances are also used in the process.

The learned counsel appearing for the North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) submits that the premises in question is a residential premises and industrial activity is not permissible. 4.

In view of the above, the present petition is disposed of by directing respondent no.3 (NDMC) to inspect the premises in question and take necessary action in accordance with law. Respondent no.2 (Delhi Pollution Committee) is also directed to inspect the premises and if any violation of The Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 or The Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act 1974, is found, the Committee shall also take the necessary action in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from today.
