This hearing is being conducted through hybrid mode. 2.

The petitioner is seeking initiation of contempt proceedings against the respondents for the alleged wilful disobedience of the directions contained in the order dated 30.04.2024 in C.W.P. No. 8712/2018 passed by this Court.

Learned counsel for the respondent is present on advance notice.

Shorn of unnecessary details, this Court has affirmed the order of the Central Administrative Tribunal [„CAT‟] in O.A. No. 282/2018 passed on 08.02.2018, whereby a direction had been issued to the respondents to modify the recruitment rules, which was held to be a mere affirmation of earlier directions vide order dated 30.11.2010 by the CAT.

After some arguments, learned counsel for the petitioner requests that he may be allowed to withdraw the present petition with liberty to file a fresh application/petition, if so advised, after examining some recent changes in the law governing the field.
