Issue notice. Mr. Mohinder J.S. Rupal, learned counsel, accepts notice on behalf of respondent Nos. 1 and 2 - University of Delhi ["University"]. Mr. Sanjay Khanna, learned Standing Counsel, accepts notice on behalf of respondent No. 3 - National Testing Agency. 2.

By way of this writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution, the petitioner assails a notification dated 25.08.2023 issued by the University, insofar that it places on hold the joining of candidates pursuant to the notification dated 18.08.2023, until further orders. The petitioner is a candidate for the post of Laboratory Attendant pursuant to an advertisement issued by the University on 23.02.2021. notification dated 18.08.2023, he was offered an appointment for the said post, and the appointment letter was issued to him on the same date.. 3.

Mr. Rajat Chauhan, learned counsel for the petitioner, relies upon a judgment of a Coordinate Bench in Hemant Sharawat & Ors. v. University of Delhi & Ors. [W.P.(C) 15036/2023 and connected matters, decided on 30.05.2025] [hereinafter "Hemant Sharawat"], wherein similarly placed appointees challenged the notification dated 25.08.2023. This Court set aside the said notification with the following directions: "94. Accordingly, impugned Notifications dated 25.08.2023 and 29.08.2023 are quashed and set aside. University is directed to complete the remaining formalities of document verification etc. and take the selection process to its logical end. Upon appointment, Petitioners will be permitted to join their respective places of postings forthwith and will be entitled to all consequential benefits." 4.

Mr. Rupal, who appears on advance notice, submits that the judgment in Hemant Sharawat has been carried in appeal to the Division Bench in University of Delhi and Anr. v. Deepak and Ors. [LPA 440/2025 and connected matter], in which notice has been issued. He submits that the petitioner's case will also be covered by the decision of the Division Bench in the said appeal.

In view of the aforesaid submission, no further orders are called for in the present writ petition. The writ petition, alongwith pending application, is disposed of, binding the University to the submission recorded above.
