The present writ petition seeks a direction to the Respondents to rectify and remove the alleged INTERPOL Alert which, according to the Petitioner, has curtailed his right to travel. 2.

The Petitioner alleges that he has been subjected to repeated instances of harassment and denial of international entry at foreign airports due to an alleged INTERPOL alert or "hit" linked to his passport, despite having no criminal antecedents, pending proceedings, Look Out Circular, or Red Notice against him.

on 20th April, 2024. Upon his return to India, and after making inquiries, the Petitioner believed that the incident in Bali was an aberration caused by a technical error. However, when he subsequently travelled to Nepal on 23rd June, 2025, he was again detained for questioning, and queried as to whether he had previously travelled to Germany. He was thereafter denied entry on the ground of an alleged INTERPOL alert and suspicion arising from travel records.

In these circumstances, the Petitioner has approached this Court, seeking a mandamus directing the Respondents to rectify and remove the INTERPOL alert which he claims is unlawfully affecting his right to travel. 5.

Pursuant to directions of this Court, a Status Report has been filed on behalf of the CBI, the relevant portion of which reads as follows: That vide IGCS message dated 24.08.2025 the NCB-Wiesbaden has informed that pursuant to NCB, New Delhi message in this regard the Red Diffusion concerned aforementioned subject Jarnail Singh, DOB:10.05.1966, place of Birth-Pandori Rajputan, India has been cancelled worldwide. They do not hold any identification material of the aforementioned subject. The aforementioned person is no longer wanted by their country with a view to arrest and NO measures are requested. It is thus evident that the Diffusion existing in respect of Jamail Singh has been deleted by Germany. The same has been checked and found not to be existing in INTERPOL's database searches as the result is showing negative. It is accordingly submitted that the averments of petitioner are not sustainable. No ground is made out for the relief clamed by the Petitioner.

In view of the above, it is evident that the Diffusion alleged by the Petitioner has already been deleted by the German authorities and is no longer reflected in INTERPOL's database searches. Accordingly, no further directions are required to be passed in the present matter. 7.

It is, however, noted that as per the Status Report, the Petitioner has a remedy under Article 18 of INTERPOL's Rules on the Processing of Data, The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

which provides that "Any person or entity shall be entitled to submit directly to the Commission for the Control of INTERPOL's Files a request for access to, or correction and/or deletion of data processed in the INTERPOL information system concerning that person or entity." The Petitioner shall be at liberty to avail of the said remedy, if so advised, in case of any surviving grievance.
