% 21.03.2016 The present writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to provide a job to the petitioner in lieu of land acquired.
It has been averred that in 1994, the petitioner's land was acquired in Village Pata, District Oriya, Uttar Pradesh. It has further been averred that the property was acquired at a very low rate, i.e., Rs. 3,000/- per bigha with the assurance that the respondent-GAIL would provide a job to the petitioner.
Learned counsel for the petitioner states that land was the only source of income and the same was acquired with the assurance to give a job but no job has been given till date. Learned counsel for the petitioner states that legal notice dated 9th May, 2015 was sent to respondent no. 2/GAIL to provide a job in lieu of acquired land. He further states that the said respondent vide
reply dated 26th May, 2015 sought some factual clarifications which have been provided.
However, learned counsel for the respondent-GAIL, who appears on advance notice, states that all the queries raised in the reply dated 26th May, 2015 have not been answered. Consequently, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the petitioner to supply all the information asked for in the respondent No. 2's reply dated 26th May, 2015 within a period of two weeks.
Upon receipt of such information, the respondent-GAIL is directed to dispose of the petitioner's representation/notice dated 09th May, 2015 within a period of six weeks by way of a reasoned order. MANMOHAN, J MARCH 21, 2016 NG
