Notice. Mr. Ruchir Bhatia accepts notice and states that in the event an application is filed under Section 197 of the Income Tax Act ('the Act') for Financial Year (FY) 2017-18, the application would be processed within two months. In case the application is made by the petitioner within a week from today, the respondent shall complete the process and pass appropriate orders under Section 197 of the Act before the commencement of the FY 2017-18. 2.

As far as other claim with respect to directions to process the return for AY 2016-17 is concerned, the Court is of the opinion that expeditious processing is necessary. The respondent shall ensure that W.P.(C) 1562/2017

the returns are assessed at the earliest convenient. All other issues are kept open.

The writ petition is disposed off in the above terms. 4.
