This petition has been filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seeking extension of the mandate of an arbitral tribunal, which is in seisin of disputes between the parties under a contract for "construction of new control room building at 220KV IP Station", awarded to the petitioner by a letter of acceptance dated 16.09.2015.

The mandate of the arbitral tribunal was extended from time to time, lastly by order dated 09.04.2024 in O.M.P.(MISC.)(COMM.) 289/2024, till 30.08.2024.

Mr. Vinod Kumar Rai, learned counsel for the respondent, appears on advance notice and states that the respondent has no objection to the relief sought.

With the consent of learned counsel for the parties, the petition is allowed and the mandate of the arbitral tribunal is extended for a period of six months from 31.08.2024.

The petition, alongwith the pending application, stands disposed of in these terms.
