By way of present application, the petitioner/applicant, who is a convict facing life imprisonment, is seeking directions for compliance of the order dated 20.08.2024 vide which this petition was disposed of. 2.

Notably, the writ petition came to be filed in the context of an incident dated 19.07.2024. The applicant/petitioner claims that the conduct of Jail Warden Jasveer was inappropriate inasmuch as he has verbally abused the applicant/petitioner. The petition was also accompanied by a written complaint dated 22.07.2024 made to the concerned authorities regarding the said incident dated 19.07.2024.

made by the learned ASC for the State, stating that the petitioner's representation would be considered and disposed of within a period of eight weeks after giving him an opportunity of hearing. It was further stated that the CCTV footage of the concerned place/spot would also be preserved. 5.

Mr. Ansari, learned ASC (Crl.) for the State submits that post-inquiry after the passing of the order dated 20.08.2024, a notice was issued to coconvict Rahul Dev and upon the recording of his statement, it has been observed that no such incident, as alleged, had taken place. He further submits that even otherwise, the petitioner has made a complaint to the Jail Visiting Judge, who is also independently looking into the complaint regarding the said incident. It is also stated that the petitioner is presently out on furlough. Learned ASC assures that on the petitioner surrendering at the expiry of the said furlough period, he would be kept in a convict jail which is not officiated by Jail Warder Jasveer.

In view of the above submissions, the application is disposed of. 7.

Needless to state that in case any notice is issued to the petitioner as was issued to the co-convict Rahul Dev, he would be at liberty to seek an appropriate remedy as may be available under the law.
