The present petition is filed seeking quashing of FIR No. 600/2000 dated 10.01.2000 under Sections 406/480 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 ('IPC') read with Sections 10/24 of the Emigration Act, 1983.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the matter has since proceeded and the petitioner has also settled with all the complainants.

He submits that the offence under Section 420 of the IPC is compoundable. He, however, points out that the learned Trial Court has passed the order of conviction under Section 420 of the IPC.

conviction without taking note of the fact that the petitioner had settled with all the complainants.
