This petition has been filed seeking quashing of FIR No. 284/2020, under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC, PS: Jagatpuri, Delhi on the basis of settlement dated 05th March, 2021, which is on record of this Court. The petitioner No.1 and respondent No.2/complainant are present in Court and duly identified by the IO. Respondent No.2 states that she has no objection to the quashing of the FIR.

Petitioner Nos.2-5, as per the APP, were not arrayed as accused in the charge-sheet and, accordingly, exempted from appearance. 3.
The marriage of petitioner No.1 and respondent No.2 has since resulted in a divorce and both of them state that they have respectively remarried. One female child was born out of wedlock. 4.

of conviction of the petitioners being remote and bleak, there is no use continuing with proceedings of the present FIR as it would be a misuse of the process of the Court and an unnecessary burden on the State exchequer. Accordingly, the petition is allowed. Consequently, the FIR No. 284/2020, under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC, PS: Jagatpuri, Delhi and proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Parties shall abide by the terms of settlement. 6.
Accordingly, the petition is disposed of. Pending applications (if any) are disposed of as infructuous.

It is however made clear that the said settlement will not affect the rights of the minor child in future.
