This is a petition filed under Section 29A(5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal for a period of five months to conclude the Arbitral proceedings and make and publish the Award.

It is stated that the parties had gone through the IOCL Conciliation Rules in order to amicably resolve the disputes and hence, the delay. 3.

Issue notice. Mr. Sharma, learned counsel accepts notice on behalf of the respondent and has no objection to the petition being allowed. 4.

I am satisfied that a sufficient cause has been shown. 5.

Hence, the petition is allowed and the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal is extended by 7 months with effect from 01.09.2024 to 31.03.2025 to make and publish the Arbitral Award 6.

The petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
