By way of the present petition, the petitioners seek protection of their life and liberty.

The petitioners are present in person and state that they got married out of their own free will and are now being pressurized by the family members of Petitioner No. 2. They claim that the family members of Petitioner No. 2 along with other persons visited the house of family members of Petitioner No. 1 and threatened them of dire consequences in case Petitioner No. 2 does not return to her maternal house.

The petitioners are stated to be of marriageable age and got married to each other voluntarily. They also rely upon the Marriage Certificate issued by Arya Samaj Mandir in support of their arguments.

verified. He submits that the Police is duty bound to protect life and liberty of every citizen and as and when any complaint is made, prompt action would be taken.

He submits that since the petitioners are present in Court today, the mobile phone number of the Beat Officer would be provided to them and they shall be at liberty to contact him as and when they apprehend any threat to their life and liberty. 6.

He submits that the Beat Officer would be sensitized in that regard and the Police will make sure that Respondent Nos. 5 to 8 do not commit any cognizable offence as alleged. 7.

Considering the above, no further orders are required to be passed at this stage.
