% 23.08.2024 1.

Present Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed seeking a direction to respondents to install platform screen doors (PSDs) at all the metro stations and to constitute a committee to carry out security audit of all metro stations.

2.

The petitioner, who appears in person, states that he is aggrieved by the increasing number of suicides on Delhi Metro platforms. He states that the PSDs open only once the trains stop at the platform and therefore, there will be no likelihood of a person committing suicide. 3.

This Court is of the view that the present PIL is liable to be disposed of on the ground that an identical PIL being W.P.(C) 1943/2019 was disposed of by the learned predecessor Division Bench vide order dated 27th September, 2019 with the following observation:

7. Hence, the aforesaid aspect of the matter, namely, Platform Screen Door installation system is a highly technical aspect of the matter and we see no reason to give any direction for the installation of the same. It is the duty of the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety to give such type of suggestions as and when such suggestions are being given by the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety, the same shall be carried out by respondent No.1. 4.

In view of the aforesaid order, the present writ petition also stands disposed of.
