This petition is filed on behalf of the Petitioner under Section 29A (4) and (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 ('1996 Act') seeking extension of the mandate of the learned Arbitrator to complete the arbitral proceeding.

Disputes having arisen between the parties in relation to Purchase Order and Work Order dated 10.02.2010 for the work of setting up a Gas Based Combined Cycle Power Generation Plant at Tripura, Petitioner filed a petition in this Court under Section 11(6) of 1996 Act, being ARB. P. 616/2021 seeking appointment of Sole Arbitrator, which was allowed on 07.09.2021 and a Sole Arbitrator was appointed to adjudicate the disputes. It is stated that the arbitral proceedings are at the stage of final arguments after the mandate of the Arbitrator was extended from time to time and the mandate has expired on 03.08.2025.

Mr. Vaibhav Dabas, learned counsel for the Respondent accepts notice and, on instructions, submits that the Respondent has no objection to the extension of mandate of the learned Arbitrator. 5.

Accordingly, with the consent of the parties and considering that the arbitral proceedings are at the stage of final arguments, mandate of the learned Arbitrator is extended by a period of 06 months from 04.08.2025. 6.

Petition is allowed and disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
