The present petition has been filed under Section 29A(5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (hereinafter 'Act') on behalf of the petitioner, who is the claimant in the arbitration proceedings, seeking extension of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal for a further period of six months.

Attention of the Court has been drawn to the procedural order passed on 3rd May, 2025, which shows that arguments in the arbitral proceedings have already been heard and written arguments have been filed on behalf of the parties. The Arbitral Tribunal, in the said order, had also sought extension of time of six months for rendering the Award. 7.

Having heard counsel for the parties, in my view, since the arbitration proceedings are at an advance stage and only the final Award needs to be rendered, the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal needs to be extended for a further period of six months from today.

The period when the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal expired, i.e., from 25th May, 2025 till today is also regularized. 9.

The petition stands disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
